There is no way to translate theoretical knowledge from pharmacological research into successful herbal practice. There are mechanics and patterns that are ignored by science but are the keys to the right application.
Even practical outlines, which are at first theoretical (the three stages of healing: inflammation, granulation, remodeling formation), the laws of healing (similars/contraries, the law of direction of cure, and the law of the healing crisis) are best taught in stories that are impossible to forget.
